Laminated GlasS
Two or more glass panes permanently bonded with a PVB or SGP interlayer. When broken, fragments stay held together — the safest glass choice for overhead, security and high-impact applications.
What Is It?
How Laminated Glass Works
Laminated glass consists of two or more panes of glass bonded together with an interlayer — typically Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) or Sentry Glass Plus (SGP). When the glass is struck and breaks, the interlayer holds all the fragments in place, preventing dangerous shards from scattering.
This is the same technology used in car windscreens. Unlike toughened glass which shatters into small cubes when broken, laminated glass "spiderwebs" and stays intact as a unit — dramatically reducing the risk of injury and maintaining a barrier even after impact.
Holds together on impact — no dangerous flying shards
Maintains a barrier after breakage (security & weather protection)
Excellent sound insulation properties
UV filtering — blocks up to 99% of UV radiation
Available in various thicknesses and interlayer types
Can be tinted, frosted or coloured
Product Types
Types of Laminated Glass
-

Standard PVB Laminated
Two panes of clear float glass bonded with standard PVB interlayer. Most common and affordable laminated option. Available in 6.38mm, 8.38mm, 10.38mm and thicker.
-

Acoustic Laminated
Specialised soft acoustic PVB interlayer that significantly outperforms standard laminated glass for sound reduction. Ideal for noise-sensitive applications.
-

Tinted Laminated
Coloured PVB interlayer options — bronze, grey, blue, green and more. Combines the safety of laminated glass with solar control and aesthetic appeal.
-

SGP Laminated
Sentry Glass Plus interlayer is 5× stronger than standard PVB. Used for structural applications, hurricane-rated glazing, balustrades, and overhead glass requiring extra strength.
-

Security Laminated
Multiple laminated plies for high-security applications. Rated to various attack resistance levels for banks, embassies, jewellery stores and critical infrastructure.
-

Frosted Laminated
Frosted or sandblasted finish combined with a laminated construction. Ideal for privacy glass that also needs to be overhead or in a safety-critical location.
